What’s your Password

What we think while making our password.

Generally, we make the password based on our priorities and likings. I know the password of two other bloggers and my password been created by my Partner. All the three passwords show the different likings and perceptions.

Blog friend 1, he is very gentle and kind. His password is also very soft and beautiful like the way he thinks.

Blog friend 2, he is straight forward and love girls (lol :)) His password is rude, blunt and shows his thinking for the girls.

My Partner, he is a tech savvy person and loves to watch the channels like “Travel and Living”. He has created the password which no one can ever think of and related to some place.

If I make some password, I give my first priority to the person I love. My password is generally the name.

Just check your password, does it matches your way of thinking.

hey,
thats an interesting point…!

i guess like many others my passwords are also based on the persons i adore,,!

keep smiling,
ANKIT,

Yeah! You r absolutely right!! I observed many people having passwords about one they like and admire….My password relates it in the same way about a person I admire along with a fictional thinking…

This is one ur best post…!! its meaningful :) :)

interesting concept! id have to say your theory is correct, although my password represents who i was a few years ago (i have kept the same one for years)

Well, having personal passwords are safe and not safe at the same time. I know that it is an oxymoron, but think about it. How often will that personal password be alphanumeric? That’s the strongest form of a password

However, since you mention it, and I know passwords of a few of my friends too, personal life has a huge bearing on password.

I got to say though, that some people have really impersonal passwords. Most of mine are really impersonal. What does that say about a person?

Hi Nidhi ,
Its very interesting and nice post. My best friend knows my password.she is a wonderful person whom i can always trust :).

i can imagine that in most of the cases our passwords match with our thinking.

Well I am confused, my password does not associate with any of my thinking, my beloved, nor my pet. :( So…!!?!

But then again, I was always advised, by the websites, while using password, use such thing which you cannot be related or associated all. I mean , make it difficult for hacker.

My password is **********.

Soory, I did not notice the header. Beautiful.

new site looking great Nidhi!! I looked through your flickr too because I wanted to see what you looked like. :-)

Anyway, the perfect pwd wouldn’t reflect anything — it would be random because that way no one would be able to guess it. :-) But that would be hard to remember hence its considered “perfect” in the IT security world.

Neeraj and my pwds definitely reflect the way we are. :-)

Well I guess my password is like your partner’s…techie…but this is bizarre…so safe :D

well this is one area where i’m good at, my passwords range from simple to complex to irritatingly complex. i once had a password which was nearly 30 letters. but once i forgot the password so i have reduced it to half. Only one person other than myself knows all my password ;-)

So your pass relates to the one you like. so tell me your id and your hubbys name. i shall give it a try :-D

Hi Ankit, Same Pinch :)

Hi Likhitha, You too, it seems many ppl use name as in the password.

Hi Lisa, even I use the same password for almost all ID’s.

Hi Joy, it means you become impersonal sometimes hehehehehehe lol

Hi Dilip, Glad to knw that you have someone to trust.

Hi JV, hmm let me guess, your password must be either related to some urdu word or the name of some book or author

Hi Poonam, Thanks for liking the new layout. Yeah, the IT security passwords may not relate to anything.

Hi Rockus, it’s too safe, I have to actually write my password in the copy to remember the spelling.

Hi Rakesh, lol :) my id is nidhidiary but the password been created by my partner.
30 letters password, hahahahahhaha, u may have thot that every one is tyring to hack your password so make it 30 letters which no one can think.

Cheers
Nidhi

Hmm… I think it is kind of different ways although most people may use the familiar names or numbers. I have come across following 3 categories of people picking password or security codes.
a. Use the code names from movies, games, etc
b. Use a book (dictionary / novel, ..) –> Open the book to a random page, pick a word and take half of that word. Go to another page in random and pick a word and take other half of it. Now, combine both half words either in the same order or in a reverse order. Additionally re-arrange the letters Left to right or vice versa
c. Pick nick names, real names, combine names of favorite people adding some favorite numbers to it.

Oh! I just remembered one more - take 1st character of each word from a favorite phrase.

Well, from security stand point 2 or 3 out of 4 above might be considered weak passwords.

just a thought!

I had to actually login to comment, hehe. My passwords are generally not even readable words, so lets cut the crap. My gf has my name as the password generally ;)
